FRAUD ALERT
Our debit card vendor, Shazam,
has alerted us to fraudulent telephone calls being reported by some
of their customers. The call is made by an automated system in
which a pre-recorded voice advises that the cardholder must
reactivate their card by entering information immediately. These
calls are fraudulent and have not been authorized by Shazam. We
would like to remind you that Jonesburg State Bank or our vendors
will never contact you by telephone or email and have you give
personnel private information. We have not had any reports of our
customers experiencing any of these calls, but if you do, please
contact the bank at 800-811-0991.
Temporary
Liquidity Guarantee Program
On October 9, 2008, FDIC deposit
insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per
depositor through December 31, 2009.

Helping You Stay
Safe Online
Jonesburg State Bank,
along with the banking industry, recognizes that as the electronic
financial world gets more complex, online fraud has become more
sophisticated. In an effort to help you stay safe online we
would like to offer some safety tips to help protect your personal
information.
-
Do not reply to any
unsolicited e-mail, pop-up message or phone call asking for
personal and/or financial information. Legitimate
businesses should never ask for this information online.
-
Do not open any
e-mail link or attachment if you suspect the message is
fraudulent. Be suspicious.
-
Review account
statements regularly to verify all transactions.
-
Use anti-virus
software, anti-spyware and a firewall,
and keep them up to date.
While no defense can
protect against every threat, you can enhance your security online
with some common sense and a little healthy skepticism.
